Ram Lakhan 2016
Continuing the trend of remakes in Bollywood, filmmaker Karan Johar has made a ‘big announcement’ on Twitter revealing that he, along with director Rohit Shetty, will recreate the magic of 1989 superhit Ram Lakhan, on celluloid.
Breaking the news on the social networking site, Karan Posted, “Here's the big announcement! Rohit Shetty & Karan Johar, in association with Mukta Arts, present RAM LAKHAN in 2016.”
"When Karan came to my home for the rights of Ram Lakhan, I couldn't say no because he is very dear to me and especially because of his dad Yashji and mum Hiroo are my great friends. Professionally I also felt it is a worthy compliment to my past work from a talented team with a fabulous director like Rohit at the helm. I am sure its is going to again be the biggest blockbuster!" said Subhash Ghai.
The remake will star current heartthrobs Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan in lead roles. While Sidharth will step into Jackie’s shoes, Varun will play Lakhan, who was essayed by Anil Kapoor in the original.
Directed and produced by Subhash Ghai, Ram Lakhan is the story about two brother who first part ways because of ideological differences, but later unite to save each other.
